The following is a legal agreement between you and Michael Schmeling. Please read this agreement carefully before downloading any images, illustrations, maps or map data. By downloading any images, illustrations, maps or map data, you agree to be bound by the terms of this agreement.

This license applies to all images, illustrations, maps and map data available WITHOUT COSTS on www.aridocean.com.

For images, illustrations, maps and map data available for charge please refer to the separate commercial agreement.

All images, illustrations, maps and map data on www.aridocean.com are protected by international copyright laws and treaties. All rights, including the copyright, for all images, illustrations, maps and map data are held by Michael Schmeling. The address is available on the imprint pages of www.aridocean.com.

Michael Schmeling as license holder of all images, illustrations, maps and map data on this website grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use and reproduce images, illustrations, maps and map data in the following ways, subject to the limitations set forth herein:

a) on personal, scientific or charitable web sites provided that they are not used for any commercial purposes
b) in personal, scientific or charitable multimedia presentations, including film and video
c) as backgrounds for computer screens and mobile phones which are used solely for personal, scientific or charitable purposes
d) on greeting cards and publications (online or printed) which are used solely for personal, scientific or charitable purposes

On any internet domain, even if the conditions under a) apply, not more than 15 images, illustrations, maps or map data may be used. Exceptions may be granted after consultation with the license holder.

Your own texts, labels, annotations or images may be added to the images, illustrations, maps and map data to produce a derived work. All limitations set forth herein shall apply to the derived works as well.

Any copyright notices may not be removed.

The images, illustrations, maps and map data (in whole or in part) may not be used as a trade mark, logo or elements thereof.

The images, illustrations, maps and map data may not be used in connection with unlawful or defamatory uses.

The images, illustrations, maps and map data may not be reproduced, sold or transferred in other ways as set forth herein.

Since geographical facts are subject to continuous change, the license holder does not accept any warranties or responsibilities for the actuality, completeness or correctness of the images, illustrations, maps and map data.
IN NO EVENT WILL MICHAEL SCHMELING BE LIABLE TO ANY PARTY OR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, SPECIAL OR OTHER CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES FOR ANY USE OF THESE IMAGES, ILLUSTRATIONS, MAPS AND MAP DATA, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, ANY LOST PROFITS OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, EVEN IF HE IS EXPRESSLY ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

The images, illustrations, maps and map data may depict situations or facts which are subject to different legal or political opinions, e.g. lines of borders, place names or political affiliations. The license holder does not intend any legal, political or cultural statement or valuation by chosing a particular depiction.

If used on a web site a link to http://www.aridocean.com is required in the imprint and "Copyright Michael Schmeling, 2007" has to be mentioned.

If used in printed publications of any sort, as well as in presentations, television or cinema performmances, software or decorations "Copyright Michael Schmeling, 2007, www.aridocean.com" has to be mentioned in the imprint.
